Baseball Recap: Choctaw Central Comes Up Short

Choctaw Central and Mendenhall squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Choctaw Central had to settle for second. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Ftng Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Ansen Mcmillan made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Choctaw Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Mendenhall, they pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Choctaw Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mendenhall, they will host Forrest County Agricultural at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aggies have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
