Volleyball Game Preview: Newfield Wolverines vs. Northport Tigers

The Newfield Wolverines are taking a road trip to challenge the Northport Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Newfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Newfield lost 3-0 to Ward Melville on Friday.

While Newfield ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Northport came up short against Connetquot last Friday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the T-Birds: they've now lost five in a row.

While Northport was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Connetquot's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-14, 25-23.

Newfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Northport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Newfield beat Northport 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
