Baseball Game Preview: Taylorsville Warriors vs. Kearns Cougars

For the second straight game, Taylorsville will face off against Kearns. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylorsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Taylorsville got the win against Kearns by a conclusive 12-2. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly ten runs.

Logan Bertagnolli made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Taylorsville is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-9 otherwise. Bertagnolli was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Woolley, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Cottle, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Taylorsville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kearns struck out seven times.

The victory made it two in a row for Taylorsville and bumps their season record up to 5-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Kearns, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.
