Basketball Recap: Horizon Prep Takes a Loss

Horizon Prep lost against Preuss UCSD on January 14th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Horizon Prep Lions were dealt an 83-41 loss at the hands of the Preuss UCSD Tritons.

Preuss UCSD found their leader in sophomore Nahom Abaynen, who posted 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abaynen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pedro Arista, who had ten points.

Horizon Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Preuss UCSD, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon Prep will square off against Cornerstone Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Preuss UCSD, they will face off against Liberty Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Preuss UCSD is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
