Carrboro extended the longest winning streak in 2A/1A Carolina 12 this week by beating Northwood, 20-17. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Jaguars.
Carrboro and the Chargers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Carrboro eventually emerging with a 20-17 victory.
Cedar Ridge's dynamic duo of Josh Keihle and Robert Moore proved tough for Granville Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Keihle threw for 150 yards and one touchdown and Moore had 98 yards receiving. Julius Walton helped Cedar Ridge's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Sean Bowman was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 206 yards as South Granville bested the Panthers. Kenny Walls also contributed to the rushing game with 101 yards on the ground.
On the ground, the Vikings' Bowman has rushed for 1000 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ansar Muhammad. The South Granville star has 23 catches for 367 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jason Tudryn's team takes on Cedar Ridge. The Jaguars are in first place, while Big Guy's team is in fourth place.
There should be lots of points scored when South Granville and Northwood face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Mike Hobgood's team comes in having scored 207 this season, while Bill Hall's team has scored 120. The Vikings scored 34 points last week as they beat Person.
