After a string of nine wins, Lincoln Park's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carlson Marauders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Railsplitters came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Marauders are ranked 341st).

Leading Carlson to victory were Austin Saavedra and Trent Ison. Saavedra almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Ison posted 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matt MacBride, who put up 13 points.

Lincoln Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Carlson, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Lincoln Park will welcome Woodhaven at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlson, they will head out on the road to challenge Allen Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
