Softball Recap: Bloomington Bruins vs. Summit SkyHawks
Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 16-5 to the Summit SkyHawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 21-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Angela Everardo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izabella Reyes, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Summit, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.
Coming up, Bloomington will take on San Gorgonio at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Summit, they will head out on the road to face off against Kaiser at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
