Basketball Game Preview: Shenandoah Raiders vs. Northeastern Knights

The Shenandoah Raiders will take on the Northeastern Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Shenandoah is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Wapahani on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Shenandoah came up short against Wapahani, falling 65-45. Shenandoah has struggled against Wapahani recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northeastern walked away with it. They took down the Tigers 50-31 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won eight games in a row.

Shenandoah better keep an eye on Tre Vanlandingham. He was instrumental in Northeastern's win, going 8-for-16 to rack up 20 points. Thanks to that strong game, Vanlandingham now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam White, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

Northeastern's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Shenandoah, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Shenandoah came up short against Northeastern when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 51-45. Can Shenandoah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
