Softball Game Preview: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars vs. Legacy Longhorns

The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Legacy Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence has given up an average of 17.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Desert Pines let them put that streak behind them. The Cougars blew past the Jaguars 27-11 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence got a massive performance out of Emily Shelley, who scored four runs and stole nine bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those nine stolen bases gave Shelley a new career-high. Rorrie Mize was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing nine bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Legacy played against Desert Pines on Friday and won via forfeit.
