Softball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

If Fairfield was feeling good fresh off their 19-9 takedown of Angola on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Jimtown Jimmies by a score of 11-10 on Friday. The Falcons have struggled against the Jimmies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Jenna Fought made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jayna Copen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

Fairfield suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Jimtown, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will head out to challenge Goshen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jimtown, they will be taking part in a tournament against Buchanan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
