Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. East Fairmont Bees
If the Nitro Wildcats were riding high off their 82-38 takedown of the Poca The Dots on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Nitro ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-46 walloping at the hands of East Fairmont on Saturday. Nitro found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 5 on offense.
Nitro's loss came despite strong showings from Karson Jones and Hailey Newsome. Jones scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds, while Newsome scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
East Fairmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Moore, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds. Tarayn Myers was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 4 steals.
Nitro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for East Fairmont, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nitro will take on Charleston Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Fairmont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m.
