Recap: Banner County Wildcats vs. Sioux County Warriors

After a string of three wins, the Banner County Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 53-46 to Sioux County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banner County in their matchups with Sioux County: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brendyn Onstott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Onstott hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Isaac Olsen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Banner County struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sioux County racked up 14 assists.

Sioux County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Skavdahl out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Monroe, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Banner County's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Sioux County, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14.

Banner County and Creek Valley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Banner County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. As for Sioux County, they will head out on the road to face off against Crawford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
