Baseball Game Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Westmont Warriors

For the second straight game, Christopher will face off against Westmont. The Cougars will host the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Christopher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Westmont's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Christopher was able to grind out a solid victory over Westmont, taking the game 6-1.

Matthew Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Cazares, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Christopher's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Westmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season.
