Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Indian Braves vs. Western Heights Jets

The Riverside Indian Braves will square off against the Western Heights Jets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Riverside Indian sitting on 11 straight wins and Western Heights on four.

Riverside Indian came out on top against Lawton on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Braves took their contest against the Wolverines 5-2.

The team relied heavily on Ty Gabeheart, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Ten must be Western Heights' lucky number: they beat Anadarko with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Jets beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-7.

Caden Wiebusch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Western Heights' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Keziah Howell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Riverside Indian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Western Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverside Indian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Western Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Riverside Indian's way against Western Heights in their previous matchup on Friday, as Riverside Indian made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
