Baseball Recap: Leechburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Leechburg entered their tilt with Western Beaver on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Beavers by a score of 9-5. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 10-9 win the Golden Beavers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Chase Henry made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Rocco Vigna was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Garrett Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Leechburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Leechburg's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Western Beaver, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leechburg will welcome Burrell at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Beaver, they will host Aquinas Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
