Volleyball Recap: Knight Starts Season with Loss at Home

Knight unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Burroughs Burros on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Burros recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Knight was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Burroughs' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burroughs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexa Santiago, who had seven digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Santiago a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knight will head out to face off against Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burroughs, they will take on Tehachapi at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
