Baseball Recap: Poudre Drops Highest Score of Season Against Greeley West

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poudre). They came out on top against the Greeley West Spartans by a score of 12-8 on Tuesday. With that win, the Impalas brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Elija Baca was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Santillanes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Poudre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Poudre now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Greeley West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Poudre wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 defeat against Columbine on the 2nd. Hopefully Greeley West payed attention to the Impalas' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Impalas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
