After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, University Lab brought some dynamite into their most recent  contest. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Episcopal Knights  a   17-0 shutout  on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won ten matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Gabby Fontenot made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Fontenot was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  London Harvey was a standout: she scored four  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Charlotte Lowe, who  scored three  runs while going 2-for-2.
 University Lab  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .812. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in February.
With the  win, University Lab broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-9. As for Episcopal, their defeat was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 7-6.
 Coming up, University Lab will challenge St. Joseph's Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Cubs are facing the Redstickers at the right time seeing as the Redstickers are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Episcopal, they are taking a road trip to  square off against Dunham  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
