Volleyball Game Preview: Irrigon Knights vs. Heppner Mustangs

Irrigon is 2-8 against Heppner since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Irrigon will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Grant Union, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Knights came out on top against the Prospectors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Heppner hadn't done well against Stanfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs won by a set and slipped past the Tigers 3-2.

Heppner's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Irrigon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Irrigon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Heppner in their previous matchup on September 11th. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
