Softball Recap: Piketon Snags 13th Win in Last 14 Games

Piketon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Huntington on Monday. The Redstreaks blew past the Huntsmen 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Redstreaks, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Reese Shanks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Forbes, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Piketon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 11 consecutive contests.

Piketon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Huntington, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Piketon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-1 win against Paint Valley on the 7th. As for Huntington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Southeastern on the 7th.
