Baseball Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Antioch Panthers

Liberty got themselves on the board against Antioch on Monday, but Antioch never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Antioch Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Liberty.

The result came thanks to Joshua Rhodes's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Cruz Van Slyke was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Stevie Wellens, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

On Antioch's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenyon Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a double.

Liberty's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-12. As for Antioch, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

As of now, neither Liberty nor Antioch have any future games scheduled.
