Soccer Recap: James F. Byrnes Comes Up Short

James F. Byrnes came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Riverside Warriors, falling 5-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as James F. Byrnes were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Julen Bertossi, which was the first he's scored this season.

James F. Byrnes has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season. As for Riverside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. James F. Byrnes is set to square off against their familiar foe Gaffney at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Meanwhile, Riverside will face off against rival Wade Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
