Football Recap: Hogan Prep Charter Comes Up Short

Hogan Prep Charter had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 72-8 loss at the hands of the St. Michael the Archangel Guardians. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for St. Michael the Archangel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. That 64 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Luis Tellado was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 77 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Gage Burgess was another key player, throwing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hogan Prep Charter will welcome Summit Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Michael the Archangel, they will challenge Father Tolton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Father Tolton's defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so St. Michael the Archangel's offense will have their work cut out for them.
