Soccer Game Preview: Brazoswood vs. Clear Springs

Brazoswood has won four straight games at home, while Clear Springs has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Brazoswood Buccaneers will welcome the Clear Springs Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Brazoswood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Brazoswood's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Clear Falls as Brazoswood made off with a 4-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Buccaneers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

They hit Clear Falls with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jereth Jones-Cruz, Alex Linaldi, Brady Faulkner, and Genaro Macedo Jr.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Clear Springs was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Clear Lake. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Chargers couldn't quite close it out.

Clear Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Brazoswood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-1 record this season.

Brazoswood beat Clear Springs by a goal when the teams last played back in January, winning 2-1. Does Brazoswood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clear Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
