Recap: Potomac Senior Panthers vs. Freedom Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Potomac Senior Panthers can now relate to. They were outmatched by Freedom on the road and fell 75-7. While losing is never fun, Potomac Senior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Freedom is ranked third).
It was another big night for Jeffrey Overton, who rushed for 280 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.6 yards per carry. Overton is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Evans-Trujillo, who threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
This is the second loss in a row for Potomac Senior and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Freedom, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Potomac Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Freedom will face off against Colonial Forge at 7:00 p.m. on November 18th. Colonial Forge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
