Football Recap: Trel Broom and Grant Braxton Secure Win for Leesville + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iowa, Leesville was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the DeRidder Dragons with a sharp 39-14 victory. The Wampus Cats haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Leading Leesville to victory were Grant Braxton and Trel Broom. Braxton gained 266 total yards and three touchdowns, while Broom rushed for 63 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Braxton a new career-high in rushing yards (250).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leesville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Although DeRidder took the loss, they still got scores from Javaughn Fairley and Jaiden Cooper.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for DeRidder, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-4.

Leesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 47-28 win against Washington-Marion on the 24th. As for DeRidder, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-8 victory against LaGrange on the 24th.
