Softball Recap: Chaparral Handles Eaglecrest

The Chaparral Wolverines beat The Eaglecrest Raptors 5-1 on Tuesday.

Chaparral's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Cates, who went 2-for-3 while posting 1 home run, 2 RBI, and 1 walk.

Chaparral swung out of their shoes and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they have managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Chaparral and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories were due in large part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3.0 runs in those two games. As for Eaglecrest, they are now 4-2, having gone 1-2 since their 3-game winning streak ended.

Coming up, Chaparral will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eaglecrest, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Legend at 4:00 p.m.
