Softball Recap: West Shamokin Beats Conemaugh Valley for Their Fourth Straight Victory

West Shamokin won the last time they faced Conemaugh Valley and things went their way on Monday too. The Wolves came out on top against the Blue Jays by a score of 5-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Leah Mondi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cameron Vandervort was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Elkin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

West Shamokin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive matchups.

West Shamokin's record now sits at 17-4. As for Conemaugh Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

As of now, neither West Shamokin nor the Blue Jays have any future games scheduled.
