League recap: Stringer tops Bogue Chitto to extend winning streak

Stringer extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 4 this week by beating Bogue Chitto, 52-24. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Hinds County Agricultural and Lumberton played the most contested game in the league this week, with Hinds County Agricultural eventually emerging with a 8-6 victory. Derrius West ran for 90 yards and caught 2 passes for 26 yards during the win.

Stringer's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tevin Moore threw for 100 and 2 touchdowns and Mason Avary had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Moore chipped in 157 yards. Will Hill helped Stringer's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

Marlon Brannan's team's dynamic duo of Moore and Avary proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hill helped Stringer's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.

Brock Roberts was a passing and rushing force as Bogue Chitto fell to the Red Devils. He completed 11 passes for 202 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 95 yards. Roberts' favorite target this week was Dennis Rogers, who caught 3 passes for 64 yards.

Blake Ford made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers lost to the Bulldogs. He forced 1 fumble and recorded 1 fumble.

Cathedral's Thomas Garrity and Jardarius Anderson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Garrity has thrown for 3,026 yards this season, while Anderson has 69 catches for 1,257 yards. Stringer's Moore leads the league in rushing yards with 1,945.

So far this year, Larry Sisson has thrown for 1,922 yards with 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Mount Olive fell to the Green Wave 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
