Volleyball Recap: Mid-Pacific Institute Falls Short Against Ranked Kamehameha Kapalama

Mid-Pacific Institute faced Kamehameha Kapalama in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Owls fell 3-1 to the Warriors. The Owls just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

While Mid-Pacific Institute had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 24-18.

Khanzas Tuisamatatele paced Mid-Pacific Institute's offense, picking up 15 kills. Tuisamatatele got some help from Milan Scanlan and her 38 assists. Mia Furoyama and Hanae Twer kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Mid-Pacific Institute's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Kamehameha Kapalama, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-3.

Mid-Pacific Institute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Punahou on the 16th. As for Kamehameha Kapalama, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against 'Iolani on the 16th.
