Baseball Recap: Colfax Victorious

Colfax was forced to take a big loss against Freeman on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Scotties by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Scotties on Tuesday, they had to take a 7-1 defeat.

Jake Melhus tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ross Cofer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Emeric Andersen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Freeman, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.

Coincidentally, Colfax and Freeman will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Lancers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Scotties will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
