Basketball Recap: James River Midlothian Takes a Loss

James River Midlothian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-34 loss at the hands of the Monacan Chiefs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rapids this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-35 back in December of 2024.

Monacan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trinity Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lila Donnelly, who posted 19 points and six assists.

James River Midlothian's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Monacan, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James River Midlothian will challenge Huguenot at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monacan, they will square off against Cosby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monacan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
