Preview: Davenport Central vs. Burlington
Davenport Central will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Burlington at 7:30 PM. Davenport Central will be hoping to build upon the 38-13 win they picked up against Burlington the last time they played.
After soaring high against Davenport North two weeks ago, Icarus fell to the ground last week. Davenport Central took a hard 7-27 fall against Pleasant Valley.
Burlington had a rough outing against Clinton, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Burlington were the clear victor by a 31-0 margin over Fort Madison. Burlington were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Burlington's victory lifted them to 2-2 while Davenport Central's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll find out if Burlington can add another positive mark to their record or if Davenport Central can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Burlington's step.
