Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Blayne Edwards and Kenjae Burgess Lead Lake City to Victory

After losing to Lee Central the last time they met, Lake City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lake City Panthers walked away with a 48-41 win over the Lee Central Stallions on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Leading Lake City to victory were Kenjae Burgess and Blayne Edwards. Burgess went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Edwards dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Burgess is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Mari Hanna, who posted five points.

Lee Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sinatra Rembert, who put up 14 points and three steals. Rembert is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Demarius Gregg, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds.

The victory got Lake City back to even at 2-2. As for Lee Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Lake City will venture away from home to face off against East Clarendon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Central, they will welcome Darlington at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
