Baseball Recap: Hamilton Heights' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hamilton Heights came into Saturday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Elwood Panthers an 11-0 shutout on Saturday. The Huskies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jackson Mikesell was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Newton, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Hamilton Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hamilton Heights' victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Elwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Hamilton Heights will face off against Noblesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Elwood, they will challenge Wes-Del at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
