Basketball Recap: Knoxville Central Comes Up Short

Knoxville Central suffered their closest defeat since November 18, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Carter Green Hornets by a score of 63-61. The Bobcats were probably out for revenge after losing 52-50 to them when the teams met back in November of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Carter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marah Yeo out in front who went 7 for 12 on her way to 21 points. What's more, Yeo also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Aleeya Blair was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Knoxville Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Carter, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11.

Knoxville Central will head out to challenge Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carter, they will welcome Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
