Basketball Recap: Owensboro Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Shalyn Sprinkles and Abby Sapp

It was a good run, but Owensboro unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 54-42 to the Edmonson County Wildcats. The match marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Owensboro's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Sapp, who posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, and Shalyn Sprinkles, who put up 14 points and four steals. That's the most points Sapp has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Zah'Niyah Board, who earned six points.

Owensboro's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Edmonson County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Owensboro will take on Dyersburg in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Dyersburg will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Owensboro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edmonson County, they will venture away from home to challenge Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmonson County is facing Warren Central at the right time seeing as Warren Central is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
