Jacob Newborn Goes Supernova in Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Victory

Starting off the list is Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Jacob Newborn, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Newborn threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

Thatcher's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Bingham and Thatcher will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sabino at 7:00 p.m.

Julian Aragon Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Friday, Morenci had to settle for second even though Julian Aragon put up the best numbers he has all season. Aragon rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (116.7) per game.

Morenci is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats dukes it out withPusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Zachari Haley Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Sabino had to settle for second even though Zachari Haley put up the best numbers he has all season. Haley rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (104.7). The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 72 yards.

Sabino is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Haley and Sabino will head out on the road to square off against Thatcher at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
