            Two dominant  backs in  Bobby Thomas and  Izayveon Moore are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Pike Red Devils will square off against the Lawrence North Wildcats at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Pike will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  points each  contest than the last.
Pike got their first taste of in-conference action  on Friday and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy  46-28 win over North Central. The Red Devils pushed the score to  46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of Pike's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Mychael Lewis and his top target  Latrell Morton. Lewis threw for 129 yards and two  touchdowns while  Morton picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Lewis has posted since back in September of 2024.  Javion Richardson was in the mix  too, providing Pike with one score.
 Pike was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 220  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 174  rushing yards in three consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Lawrence North faced Center Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Trojans by a score of  38-35. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
 Lawrence North's  loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Pike, their record is now 3-5.
Friday's   game might be decided on the ground. Pike has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 185.4  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lawrence North struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 260.9  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
 Pike came up short against Lawrence North in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024, falling  24-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Moore, who rushed for 107 yards and two  TDs.
