Football Game Preview: Glenpool Warriors vs. Poteau Pirates

The Glenpool Warriors will face off against the Poteau Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenpool comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Glenpool came up short against Hilldale and fell 28-21.

Meanwhile, Poteau ended up a good deal behind Ada on Friday and lost 49-35. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (31), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Glenpool will have to contain Sam Tecla as he made an impact in Poteau's last game. He threw for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 104 yards. Poteau also got a significant boost from Spencer Perry, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.

Even if they lost, Poteau's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Wrigley Downs refused to say out of the backfield, picking up a sack all by himself.

Glenpool's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Poteau, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
