Baseball Recap: Northridge Find Success

Northridge hadn't done well against Bountiful recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the RedHawks, sneaking past 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the RedHawks on Wednesday, they had to take a 10-9 defeat.

Jarek Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Boston Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevin Redd, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Bountiful, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will square off against Roy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bountiful, they will take on Clearfield at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
