Softball Recap: Portland Christian Takes a Loss

The Portland Christian Eagles came up short against the Elliott County Lions on Tuesday and fell 12-8. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bailey Atcher was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Addie Bragg was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Portland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Elliott County, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Portland Christian will take on Martin County at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elliott County, they will face off against McDowell at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
