Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Region can now relate to. They came up short against the Auburndale Bloodhounds on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Thunder in their meetings with the Bloodhounds: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-9, 25-8.

Charlotte Williams paced Lake Region's offense, picking up four kills. Williams got some help from Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez and her nine assists.

Kristilyn Fields had an outrageously good game for Auburndale as she had 21 digs and three aces. Fields is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 2-25. As for Auburndale, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-12 record.

Lake Region does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburndale, they will take on Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
