Basketball Recap: Kolby Watson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Banks County over Providence Christian Academy

Banks County lost against Providence Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Banks County Leopards took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Christian Academy Storm. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (59), the Leopards still had to take the loss.

Banks County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kolby Watson, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 23 points. The matchup was Watson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke Dale, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Banks County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Providence Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Banks County will welcome Elbert County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Elbert County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Banks County likes a good challenge. Providence Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against Alleluia Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
