Softball Recap: Jackson-Milton Comes Up Short

Jackson-Milton and St. John squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Jackson-Milton had to settle for second. They fell 10-5 to the Fighting Herald. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Katie Byers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on 14 hits.

On the hitting side, Ivy McBeth was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Johns, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Jackson-Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for St. John, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

As of now, neither Jackson-Milton nor the Fighting Herald have any future games scheduled.
