Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian Has No Trouble Against Chief Leschi

There's no place like home for Northwest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Chief Leschi Warriors on Monday as the Northwest Christian Wolverines made off with a 55-29 win. The match marked the Wolverines' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Northwest Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Vahey, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 rebounds gave Vahey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dan Babber, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with six boards and five assists.

Northwest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Northwest Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Chief Leschi, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian will welcome Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chief Leschi, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Naselle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
