Recap: East Columbus vs. Sandhills Titans
After soaring high against Fayetteville Christian on Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. East Columbus took a 13-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sandhills Titans. If East Columbus were hoping to take revenge for the 6-13 loss against Sandhills Titans the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Junior Donnell Melvin, who rushed for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Derrick Noiles, who racked up 12 tackles.
The loss dropped East Columbus back to even at 1-1. The win bumped Sandhills Titans's record up to 2-1.
Next week, East Columbus take on St. Pauls at 7:30 PM. Sandhills Titans will look to defend their home turf next week against Trinity Christian at 7:30 PM.
