Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Davis County Jaguars vs. Lumberton Panthers

The Jefferson Davis County Jaguars will start their season against the Lumberton Panthers. First pitch is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Lumberton will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Richton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lumberton walked away with a 4-1 victory over Richton on Tuesday. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-0-1.

As for Jefferson Davis County, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the right side of .500 (9-7), and they're hoping to kick off an even more successful campaign this year.

Jefferson Davis County might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Lumberton in their previous meeting back in March of 2018. Can Jefferson Davis County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
