Recap: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Mounds Golden Eagles
The Summit Christian Academy Eagles put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mounds, posting a 59-29 win on the road. Summit Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.
Summit Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Valeria Hill scored 28 points along with three steals and Trinity Garnatz dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. Emily Sloat was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Mounds lost, one person who can't be blamed is Baylie Harig. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Harig scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayah Steinman, who scored six points.
Summit Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Mounds, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Summit Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Porter on January 19th. Porter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Summit Christian Academy is ranked 120th). Mounds won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Haskell on January 19th.
