Softball Recap: Thornwell Comes Up Short

Thornwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-6 to the Dixie Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 back in March.

Madi Porter was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Lydia Hefner also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Thornwell now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Dixie, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornwell will venture away from home to face off against Whitmire at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixie, they will face off against Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
